Inktober 2018 - First drawing

It's october again (yayy!) and this means, it's inktober time! Below is my first drawing for inktober 2018. Of course, its a witch! I did this in procreate, although I must say I missed some of my photoshop brushes (especially Kyle T. Webster's Brushes) for this!

First Procreate Illustrations!

Sooo, I finally purchased an ipadPro (have been dreaming of this for quite some time now) and I was hoping for a tool that would make it easier for me to work on my illustrations on the go, plus I've also heard that many people were drawing much more since they got the ipad Pro..and what can I say, it's true! This portable drawing tablet makes it so easy to work from everywhere, I totally love it. I have mainly worked in Procreate for my latest illustrations, you can see them all below :) If you like my work and want to see more, you can follow me on instagram (click here).

A little fall illustration, because I'm so ready for fall!

January Doodle Challenge

Happy New Yeeear!
I'm joining the drawing challenge #doodletimewithkaroline (by Karoline Pietrowski) on instagram.
Today's topic was cinderella! I was inspired by the 2015 movie.
My goal for 2018 is to get better at digital illustration, so I'm trying to practise that more often :)

My Inktober drawings 2017

Yes I know, it is almost the end of november, but I still wanted to share some of my inktober drawings for this year. I didn't do 31 drawings, but I managed to do a lot more than last year! The best things I learned from doing inktober:

  • How to come up with ideas for prompts (I mostly used a list by German illustrator Karoline Pietrowski, find it under the hashtag #inktobertimewithkaroline
  • I used a mix of digital and traditional drawing tools, and while doing inktober, I think I improved a lot in digital drawing (especially doing the outlines - which is the whole purpose of inktober, yay) and figured out what brushes I like most in combination, so I somehow developed my drawing style :) or at least I found a way to do a "simple drawing style" in photoshop
  • By posting very regularly to instagram, which I normally don't do, I gained some new followers (hello there and welcome! :) ) and also learned how important it is to post regularly..I will try to do so more often!
Here are some of my favourites:
These three little witches are my favourite. And this drawing even got shared by Tumblr! :O

Materials used: Pentel brush pen, grey Touch and Copic Ciao Markers for the traditional drawings; Photoshop for the digital drawings.

Motivation for aspiring Illustrators

Today I'm sharing a wonderful article from zoluart, about her first year as an Illustrator. It was so motivating for me to read how far she has come in only 1 year, so I wanted to share this with you. Read here: Zoluart - in one year to first customer illustrations
