My Inktober drawings 2017

Yes I know, it is almost the end of november, but I still wanted to share some of my inktober drawings for this year. I didn't do 31 drawings, but I managed to do a lot more than last year! The best things I learned from doing inktober:

  • How to come up with ideas for prompts (I mostly used a list by German illustrator Karoline Pietrowski, find it under the hashtag #inktobertimewithkaroline
  • I used a mix of digital and traditional drawing tools, and while doing inktober, I think I improved a lot in digital drawing (especially doing the outlines - which is the whole purpose of inktober, yay) and figured out what brushes I like most in combination, so I somehow developed my drawing style :) or at least I found a way to do a "simple drawing style" in photoshop
  • By posting very regularly to instagram, which I normally don't do, I gained some new followers (hello there and welcome! :) ) and also learned how important it is to post regularly..I will try to do so more often!
Here are some of my favourites:
These three little witches are my favourite. And this drawing even got shared by Tumblr! :O

Materials used: Pentel brush pen, grey Touch and Copic Ciao Markers for the traditional drawings; Photoshop for the digital drawings.

Motivation for aspiring Illustrators

Today I'm sharing a wonderful article from zoluart, about her first year as an Illustrator. It was so motivating for me to read how far she has come in only 1 year, so I wanted to share this with you. Read here: Zoluart - in one year to first customer illustrations

Batman Girl Illustration

New illustration! I usually have a hard time choosing colors, but I was happy with the ones in this illustration quite early on. Just couldn't decide at first about the hair color..
I'm also trying to work more an more with shadows. Still have a lot to learn.

Here is my little batgirl ;)

New Designs: Cats and Dots, and So it goes!

Hellooo! I've uploaded some more designs in the last weeks that I wanted to show you.
The first one is called "Pünktchen" (which means "dots" in German). It is a simple pattern with colors I love - and apparently, Redbubble loved it to, because they notified me the next day that they are featuring the design on their website! :)

Here you can see the design and some product options:

And this design was inspired by my love for cats. I love how the black and white design turned out on the products :)

The third one is a hand-lettered quote inspired by Kurt Vonnegut: So it goes :)

See more products in my Society6 Shop and my Redbubble Shop!

Happy Wednesday!

Sell your art: Passive income

Sorry, I don't have anything to contribute to the subject myself yet, but I quickly wanted to share a free Skillshare class on passive income on sites like Society6 by artist Cat Coquilette (she also has it available as Blogpost). Watched it this morning and it's quite motivating and has some great tips for selling your art on print on demand sites! Check it out: Creating Art that Sells: A Working Artist's Guide | Cat Coquillette | Skillshare

Lavender Pattern

My newest design is a lavender pattern, see some pics of the work in progress and of available products in my Society6 and Reddbubble Shops below :) It is the first design where I've tried to vectorize watercolor, I'm quite happy with the result! And I must admit, I've ordered some greeting cards with the design from Reddbubble for myself, I don't know if that is totally weird, but I just wanted to see it in real life ;) Can't wait till they arrive!

Redbubble and Society6 Shop!

Hi there!
I was busy during the last week and this weekend to open my new shops on Redbubble and Society6. Those are Print on Demand sites where you can upload your art and the designs will be printed on various kinds of things, like wall clocks, tote bags, mugs, etc., but you can also just sell them as art prints or stationery cards. My Redbubble Shop is brand new and I just love that you are able to sell stickers there! For Society6, I already started a shop last year, but was not so happy with the designs and username, so I decided to just start again from scratch.

Here is a sneek peek at some of my designs there, click -> to visit my Redbubble Shop or my Society6 Shop and if you like what you see, I would be so happy for a follow :) Thanks and have a great day!
